Visible Signs of Damage:
Folded or Rolled Leaves: Larvae fold or roll leaves and secure them with silken threads.
Scraped Leaf Surface: Larvae feed inside folded leaves, producing white or transparent patches.
Drying of Leaves: Severely damaged leaves may turn brown and dry prematurely.
Reduced Photosynthesis: Loss of healthy green leaf tissue weakens plants and affects crop growth.
Poor Grain or Fruit Development: Heavy infestation may reduce grain filling, fruit development and overall yield.
Target Crops:
Rice, maize, cotton, pulses, soybean, groundnut, tea, brinjal, okra and other vegetable crops.
