Visible Signs of Damage:
Wilted Shoots: Larvae bore inside tender shoots, causing them to droop, dry and die.
Entry Holes: Small holes containing insect excreta may appear on shoots, flower buds and fruits.
Internal Fruit Damage: Larvae feed inside fruits, making them unfit for sale or consumption.
Premature Flower and Fruit Drop: Infested buds, flowers and young fruits may fall prematurely.
Reduced Yield: Continuous infestation reduces plant growth, fruit formation and marketable yield.
Target Crops:
Brinjal, okra, chilli, tomato, cotton, pigeon pea, sugarcane and several vegetable and fruit crops.
